Gabon observed the International Data Privacy Day 2026 with a high-level meeting held at the ANINF Tower, bringing together government representatives and key stakeholders from the digital ecosystem. The event was organised by the Authority for the Protection of Personal Data and Private Life (APDPVP) under the theme “Digital economy and protection of personal data in Gabon: challenges and perspectives.”

The meeting focused on national priorities around data governance, digital trust and the role of secure digital systems in supporting Gabon’s growing digital economy. Discussions highlighted the importance of aligning infrastructure development, regulatory frameworks and institutional capacity to ensure the protection of personal data while enabling innovation and economic growth.

During the event, the Director General of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructures and Frequencies (ANINF), Alberto Wenceslas Mounguengui Moudoki, delivered a presentation on “Digital infrastructure and government vision: role of ANINF in Gabon’s digital transformation.” He outlined ANINF’s mandate in deploying strategic digital infrastructure and its contribution to supporting the State’s vision for a secure, resilient and trusted digital transformation.
