Nigeria, Sweden strengthen digital economy partnership

Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, has received the new Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Anna Westerholm, for a courtesy visit marking one of her first official engagements since her appointment.
The delegation also included Marlena Batist Hager, Swedish Trade
Commissioner to Nigeria, and Fredrik Ahberg, Head of Political and Trade
Affairs at the Swedish Embassy.
Discussions
during the visit highlighted the enduring 65-year partnership between Nigeria
and Sweden, as well as recent collaborations over the past two years. Both
parties emphasized the importance of strengthening government-to-government
ties and exploring opportunities to advance Nigeria’s digital economy.
Dr.
Tijani expressed optimism about future cooperation, particularly through
Sweden’s Business Sweden office in Lagos, noting that deeper collaboration
would support inclusive growth and accelerate the development of Nigeria’s
digital infrastructure and services.
