The
Ministry of Innovation and Technology, together with senior and middle
management of relevant public institutions, has conducted a visit to the
Digital Government Service One Center in Addis Ababa to review progress and
discuss shared priorities in Ethiopia’s digital transformation agenda.

Speaking
during the visit, Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Bete Mola said the
strides made in deploying digital solutions across the civil service have
positioned Ethiopia as a model for the region and key sector stakeholders. He
noted that, given the country’s size and population, the rapid digitisation of
thousands of public services is critical to accelerating national
transformation while strengthening trust between government and citizens.
Dr.
Bete Mola explained that the adoption of modern digital technologies provides
an opportunity to address longstanding service delivery challenges, improve
efficiency, and create a citizen-centered public service environment that
upholds human dignity. He described the Digital Ethiopia 2030 Vision as a clear
demonstration of the country’s renewed commitment to building a modern and
inclusive nation through innovation.

Addis
Messor Director General Mr. Jonas Alemayehu said the modernisation of digital
government services, supported by updated technologies, offers a practical
solution to systemic inefficiencies. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment
to expanding One Center services and introducing additional procedures to
further advance Ethiopia’s digital government journey.
Concluding
the engagement, Dr. Bete Mola reiterated the Ministry of Innovation and
Technology’s commitment to providing the necessary technical support to the
“New Basket” initiative, underscoring its growing contribution to the
successful implementation of the Digital Ethiopia 2030 Strategy.
