The
African Space Agency has announced the opening of registrations for the second
edition of SPACERAISE, an international doctoral school focused on space
applications, as part of efforts to strengthen advanced capacity building
within the global and African space ecosystem.
SPACERAISE
is designed for Master’s and PhD students, university researchers, and industry
professionals seeking specialised, high-level training in space-related
disciplines. The programme provides participants with exposure to cutting-edge
space applications, opportunities to engage with leading global experts, and
platforms to build international professional networks.
According
to the African Space Agency, the initiative is particularly relevant for
African space talents aiming to deepen their technical expertise while gaining
world-class exposure within the rapidly evolving global space sector.
The
inaugural edition of SPACERAISE recorded strong international participation,
training 150 participants drawn from 32 countries, including 11 African
nations. The programme featured contributions from 58 international experts
representing prominent academic, industrial, and institutional organisations,
including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the
European Space Agency (ESA), and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).
Registration
for the second edition of SPACERAISE is open until 31 January 2026. Interested
applicants can access further details and submit applications through the
