The
African Satellite Communications Organisation (RASCOM) has commenced its 78th
Board of Directors meeting from January 27 to 30, bringing together senior
leadership to discuss strategic planning, regional collaboration, and
innovations in satellite technology.

The
meeting, chaired by Board Chairperson Madam Judith Yah Sunday and Director
General Mr. Timothy Ashong, engaged board members in high-level discussions
aimed at advancing Africa’s digital transformation. Key topics included
enhancing regional cooperation, strengthening satellite infrastructure, and
fostering private-sector investment in the continent’s communications
ecosystem.
Commenting
on the ongoing meeting, Director General Timothy Ashong said, “This gathering
provides a critical platform for our leadership to align on strategic
priorities and explore innovative solutions that will drive Africa’s satellite
communications sector forward. Collaboration and partnership are at the heart
of our mission to build a self-reliant and sustainable digital future for the
continent.”

RASCOM
continues to champion initiatives that strengthen Africa’s satellite
capabilities, positioning the organisation as a central driver of regional
innovation and cooperation in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
