Vodafone
Business has announced its entry into Egypt’s agriculture sector, marking a
significant expansion of its enterprise services into one of the country’s most
critical economic areas. The move is aimed at supporting agricultural
productivity, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability through
technology-driven solutions.
The
initiative is being implemented through a collaboration with Rakhaa For
Agriculture Investments and focuses on delivering an end-to-end smart
agriculture solution built on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The
project integrates connectivity, sensors, automated irrigation systems and
data-driven decision-making tools designed to operate effectively at scale.

According
to Vodafone Business Executive Director Mahmoud ElKhateeb, the agriculture
sector requires reliable infrastructure and innovative solutions to address
challenges related to resource efficiency and sustainability. The new offering
is intended to help reduce resource waste, improve crop productivity and
support more sustainable farming practices across large agricultural
operations.
The
solution enables real-time monitoring and management of farming activities,
allowing stakeholders to make informed decisions based on data collected from
connected devices and sensors deployed in the field. Automated irrigation
systems form a core part of the deployment, helping optimize water usage in a
country where water efficiency is a strategic priority.

Vodafone
Business acknowledged the role of its internal teams in developing and
delivering the value proposition, emphasizing that the project reflects its
broader commitment to applying digital technologies to solve real-world
challenges across key sectors of the economy.
