The
Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has intensified its
efforts to bridge the digital divide by rolling out ICT training and
cybersecurity awareness programmes for students and teachers across several
schools in the country.
The
initiative follows the successful handover of Digital Centres in different
parts of Botswana and is aimed at ensuring that the facilities are fully
operational and deliver meaningful impact within school communities. Through
targeted training sessions, educators and learners are being equipped with
essential digital skills to support teaching, learning and safe participation
in the digital environment.

As
part of the ongoing programme, BOCRA’s Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) is
this week conducting ICT training and cybersecurity awareness sessions at
Tewane Primary School, Ditladi Primary School, Mabele Primary School and
Dikgatlho Junior Secondary School. The sessions focus on building foundational
digital competencies while promoting responsible and secure use of digital
technologies.
BOCRA
said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to digital inclusion,
particularly in underserved and remote areas, by empowering schools with the
skills and knowledge required to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
