The Africa Centre for Nature-Based Climate Action has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, to explore a strategic partnership aimed at advancing climate action across Ghana and the wider African continent.

The engagement focused on opportunities for collaboration in climate research, policy advocacy, and public engagement, with particular emphasis on nature-based solutions as a pathway to sustainable development. Discussions highlighted the potential for joint interdisciplinary research initiatives that bring together academic expertise and practical climate action.

The proposed partnership also includes plans for student capacity building to strengthen skills and knowledge in climate science and policy, as well as the organisation of a high-level public lecture. The lecture is intended to reframe nature-based solutions as critical infrastructure for resilience, economic development, and environmental sustainability.

Both parties expressed a shared commitment to co-creating impactful climate solutions and fostering sustained knowledge exchange. The engagement marks a step toward building stronger linkages between academia and climate action institutions in support of a resilient and sustainable Africa.
