Satellite
industry expert Michael Essam has announced the conclusion of his tenure at The
Egyptian Satellite Company, Nilesat, marking the end of a professional journey
that began in 2012 and spanned more than a decade of technical and strategic
contributions to the organization.
Mr.
Essam said his career at Nilesat was shaped by the strong operational
foundation he built at the Nilesat Satellite Control Center, where he gained
hands-on experience and developed discipline in satellite operations. He
described this early phase as instrumental in shaping his professional growth
within the satellite and spectrum management domain.
In
2015, Essam, working closely with colleague Ahmed Hafez, led the restructuring
of Nilesat’s Spectrum Department. The team assumed full responsibility for the
company’s satellite spectrum activities, later strengthened by the addition of
Dr. Karim El-Abbasy. The group went on to play a central role in spectrum
coordination, market analysis, and technical research, contributing directly to
the Nilesat-301 satellite programme.
He
credited the leadership of Eng. Amer Latif for entrusting the team with
expanded responsibilities, noting that the confidence placed in them enabled
the department to evolve beyond routine coordination functions into a more
strategic role supporting Nilesat’s long-term objectives.
Reflecting
on his departure, Mr. Essam described his time at Nilesat as a defining chapter
in his career, characterized by professional growth, collaboration, and lasting
relationships. He expressed gratitude to the company’s leadership, including
the Nilesat Chief Executive Officer, for their support and encouragement
throughout his journey.
Essam
indicated that he is now preparing to move forward toward new professional
challenges, bringing with him the experience and expertise gained during his
years at Nilesat.
