Vodacom Group Chief External Affairs Officer, Ayman Essam has recently visited Tanzania, one of the company’s core markets, noting the importance of policy alignment, strong execution, and close engagement with local stakeholders in driving sustainable growth.

During the visit, Mr. Essam engaged with senior government and diplomatic leaders, including Prof. Kitila Alexander Mkumbo, Minister of Planning and Investment; Mr. Emmanuel M. Tutuba, Governor of the Bank of Tanzania; Hon. Angellah Kairuki, Minister of Communications and ICT; Mr. Andrew Lentz, American Chargé d'affaires in Tanzania; and Ms. Marianne Young, British High Commissioner. Discussions focused on how policy, technology, and investment can collaborate to foster inclusive and sustainable development.

He also participated in an evening reception with the business community and Vodacom Tanzania stakeholders, where practical challenges and priorities were highlighted, reinforcing the need for coordinated action and strategic planning.

During site visits to the Dodoma Data Center and Vodacom Tanzania branches, the Group Chief External Affairs Officer observed firsthand the focus and commitment of local teams. Under the leadership of Philip Besiimire, Vodacom Tanzania continues to deliver consistently in a highly competitive market.

As Tanzania prepares to host AFCON 2027, such discipline and operational consistency are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the country’s readiness for large-scale events.
