Eutelsat
has signed a multi-launch agreement with MaiaSpace to support future
deployments of its OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, beginning in 2027,
as part of efforts to strengthen service resilience and expand European launch
options.
The
agreement adds MaiaSpace as a new European launch provider within Eutelsat’s
portfolio, supporting the deployment and replenishment of the OneWeb
constellation. Eutelsat said the move will enhance the continuity and
reliability of high-speed, low-latency connectivity services delivered to
customers worldwide.
Announcing
the development, Eutelsat Chief Executive Officer Jean-François Fallacher
emphasized the importance of diversifying access to space to ensure efficient
constellation management and uninterrupted service delivery at scale. He noted
that reliable access to orbit is increasingly critical as connectivity becomes
recognized as essential infrastructure.
Ahead
of the contract signing, Fallacher visited MaiaSpace’s facilities and engaged
with the company’s team, including discussions around the development of
MaiaSpace’s upcoming factory in Vernon. He said the partnership reflects
Eutelsat’s commitment to supporting a competitive and sovereign European space
ecosystem.
Eutelsat
stated that the collaboration with MaiaSpace aligns with its broader strategy
to reinforce operational resilience while contributing to the growth of
Europe’s space launch capabilities.
