Space42 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC) to support the protection and monitoring of Houbara birds through the use of artificial intelligence and drone technologies.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, and His Excellency Mansoor AlMansoori, Chairman of Space42. The MoU was signed by Mr. Hasan AlHosani, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Solutions at Space42, and Mr. Mohammed Al Matoua Al Dhaheri, Acting Director-General of IFHC.

Under the agreement, Space42 will deploy AI-enabled drones to support the monitoring of Houbara bird movement patterns and habitats. The company will also provide field logistics management to enhance data collection and analysis, enabling more accurate and timely insights to inform conservation strategies.

The collaboration underscores the growing role of geospatial intelligence in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. By integrating advanced AI analytics with drone technology, the initiative aims to strengthen long-term ecological sustainability efforts while supporting data-driven conservation planning.

Space42 said the partnership reflects its commitment to applying space and digital technologies to address real-world challenges, including the protection of vulnerable wildlife species and the preservation of natural ecosystems.
