Cameroon’s
leading network operator, CAMTEL has entered into a strategic partnership with
the Cameroon Baccalaureate Office (OBC) to support the digitalisation and
security of the country’s national examinations, marking a significant step in
the use of sovereign digital technologies to modernise public services.

The
agreement was formalised on January 15, 2026, and is designed to strengthen the
technological infrastructure underpinning the administration of official
examinations across the country. It focuses on improving connectivity,
enhancing data security, and deploying reliable digital platforms to support
examination processes.
Under
the partnership, CAMTEL will provide high-speed and redundant interconnection
for OBC sites nationwide, ensuring operational continuity and reducing the risk
of service disruptions. Sensitive examination data will be hosted and secured
within Cameroon’s sovereign national cloud, reinforcing data protection and
national control over critical information.
The
collaboration also will ensure the deployment of transparent and reliable
digital platforms aimed at improving efficiency, traceability, and trust in the
management of national examinations.

The
Director of the Cameroon Baccalaureate Office described the partnership as a
major technological advancement for the institution, noting that it is
supported by CAMTEL’s technical expertise and experience in delivering
large-scale digital infrastructure.
With
this agreement, CAMTEL further consolidates its role as a key technological
partner to public administration, contributing to the sustainable digital
transformation and modernization of essential state services in Cameroon.
