Nigeria’s
Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani,
has held discussions with Norway’s Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Svein Baera,
aimed at strengthening cooperation in key areas critical to Nigeria’s digital
future.

The
meeting focused on advancing collaboration in broadband infrastructure
development, digital talent growth, artificial intelligence and clean energy,
as Nigeria continues to position digital innovation as a driver of economic
transformation. Dr. Tijani noted that Nigeria has developed a strong working
relationship with countries in the Nordic region over the past year, creating a
foundation for deeper partnerships.
He
welcomed Norway’s expressed interest in supporting Nigeria’s digital
transformation agenda, describing the engagement as timely and aligned with the
country’s national development priorities. According to the minister,
translating ongoing discussions into concrete commitments will be essential to
delivering measurable outcomes that support economic growth, talent development
and improved connectivity across the country.

The
engagement underscores Nigeria’s broader strategy of leveraging international
partnerships to accelerate digital infrastructure expansion, foster innovation
and build a resilient, inclusive digital economy.
