The Rwanda Space Agency, in collaboration with the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law, has commenced a three-day training programme on International Space Law, Policy, and Governance aimed at strengthening national capacity in the space sector.

The training brings together space professionals from government institutions, the private sector, and academia, with a focus on building a solid understanding of the legal and policy frameworks that govern space activities at national, regional, and international levels. Participants are being introduced to key principles of space law, regulatory obligations, and governance models that support the sustainable and responsible use of outer space.

The initiative forms part of Rwanda’s broader efforts to develop a well-informed and compliant space ecosystem as the country expands its engagement in space science, technology, and applications. By equipping stakeholders with legal and policy expertise, the programme seeks to support effective decision-making, institutional coordination, and alignment with international norms.

The Rwanda Space Agency expressed appreciation to Prof. Andrea Harrington, Dr. Arnold Agaba, and Dr. Richard DalBello for their contributions and for sharing their expertise throughout the training sessions.
