MTN
South Africa has reiterated its long-term commitment to education and national
development, emphasizing the company’s deep-rooted connection to the country,
during the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Matric Results Announcement.
Speaking
at the event, MTN Group Chief for Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Ms.
Nompilo Morafo, underscored the company’s belief that South Africa is not
merely a market but home to its customers, employees, families and future
generations. She noted that the success of MTN South Africa is closely
intertwined with the success of the country, making education a strategic
priority rather than a peripheral corporate responsibility.

Ms.
Morafo highlighted that through the MTN Foundation, more than half of the
company’s social investment is deliberately directed towards education. She
stressed that sustainable national progress begins in classrooms, not
boardrooms, and that investing in education is essential to building a capable
and competitive society.
She
further pointed to MTN’s partnership with the Department of Basic Education as
a reflection of the company’s commitment to active and responsible citizenship,
stating that corporate institutions must play a direct role in supporting
national development goals.
Addressing
the Class of 2025, Ms. Morafo delivered a message of encouragement and
confidence, affirming MTN’s belief in the abilities and potential of South
African learners as they transition to the next stage of their academic and
professional journeys.
