Kenya has taken another step toward the development of a commercial spaceport following the successful hosting of a virtual pre-bid conference webinar on transaction advisory services.

The webinar brought together prospective and eligible firms, providing a platform to clarify the project’s scope, strategic objectives and procurement requirements. Participants were guided through key aspects of the initiative to ensure a clear and common understanding of expectations ahead of the bidding process.

The session was led by officials from the National Treasury, the Public Private Partnership Directorate and the Kenya Space Agency, which is the contracting authority for the project. The officials outlined the advisory services required and explained the procedures and timelines for bid submission, emphasizing transparency and compliance with established procurement frameworks.

The pre-bid engagement forms a critical part of the preparatory process for the proposed commercial spaceport and reflects Kenya’s intention to attract qualified partners for the project. The initiative is expected to support the growth of the country’s space sector and strengthen its position within the regional and global space economy.
