Guinea’s Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy (MPTEN) has formally opened its 2026 administrative year, with the Minister, Rose Pola Pricemou, chairing the first cabinet meeting of the year.

The meeting marked the official start of the ministry’s activities for the year and provided an opportunity for the Minister to outline priorities and expectations for managers and staff. In her opening remarks, Pricemou extended New Year wishes for good health, professional success and renewed commitment, while urging all personnel to approach their responsibilities with rigour, method and a strong sense of accountability.

On behalf of the ministry, the Minister also conveyed congratulations to President Mamadi Doumbouya following the official proclamation of the presidential election results, noting that the development signalled the country’s transition into a new institutional phase.

Within this context, Pricemou underscored that the advent of the Fifth Republic brings heightened expectations for public sector performance, positioning digital technology as a central strategic pillar of Guinea’s long-term Simandou 2040 vision. She emphasized that digital transformation would play a critical role in modernising state action and supporting national development objectives.

For the first quarter of 2026, the cabinet discussions focused on strengthening discipline in execution, improving planning processes and ensuring high-quality outputs across the ministry’s activities. These measures, the Minister noted, are intended to enhance the effectiveness of public action and reinforce MPTEN’s leadership role in driving the digital transformation of the State.

The meeting set the tone for a year expected to prioritise action, coherence and measurable impact, as the ministry aligns its operations with national development ambitions and the evolving demands of Guinea’s digital economy.
