Algeria’s
postal and telecommunications sector recorded notable progress in 2025, marked
by infrastructure strengthening, service quality improvements, and continued
advancement toward higher technological standards, according to the Minister of
Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki.
In
a year-end statement, the Minister described 2025 as both challenging and
achievement-driven, underscoring the resilience and commitment of the sector’s
workforce. He noted that sustained efforts by staff and employees across the
sector were guided by a shared conviction that serving citizens remains the
foremost priority.
Zerrouki
highlighted that investments in infrastructure and reforms aimed at enhancing
service delivery have contributed to measurable improvements in the quality and
reliability of postal and telecommunications services nationwide. These
efforts, he said, reflect the sector’s broader objective of building a modern,
citizen-focused digital and communications environment.
Looking
ahead to 2026, the Minister expressed optimism and outlined ambitious goals for
the sector. He emphasized a collective determination to deepen reforms,
accelerate technological progress, and create an enabling technological
ecosystem that aligns with the expectations and aspirations of Algerian
citizens.
He
reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to sustaining momentum in reform and
modernization efforts, noting that continued innovation, infrastructure
development, and institutional commitment will be central to delivering
improved services and supporting Algeria’s broader digital and socio-economic
development objectives in the year ahead.
