Telecom
Egypt has announced a comprehensive organizational transformation initiative
approved by its Board of Directors, aimed at strengthening strategic focus,
improving operational agility, and reinforcing a customer-centric operating
model. The announcement was made on December 31, 2025, as part of the company’s
preparations for its next phase of growth.
The
transformation introduces structural realignments across key business functions
to accelerate decision-making, enhance execution, and support sustainable
growth through clearer accountability and optimized operations. Central to the
initiative is the restructuring of Telecom Egypt’s commercial operations into
two distinct business sectors: Consumer and Enterprise.
Under
the new structure, the Consumer Sector will focus on individual and home
customers, driving growth through a streamlined product portfolio and improved
service delivery models. The Enterprise Sector will serve corporate,
institutional, and government clients, offering integrated communications and
digital solutions that support Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.
To
further strengthen customer experience, the Customer Service function has been
realigned to operate within each sector through integrated organizational
units. This move establishes direct accountability for service performance and
customer satisfaction within both the Consumer and Enterprise businesses.
As
part of the transformation, the Board appointed Mohamed Eltouny as Chief
Consumer Officer. In this role, he will lead the commercial strategy and
operations of the Consumer Sector, with a mandate to accelerate growth, improve
commercial efficiency, and enhance customer value and profitability.
The
Board also approved the appointment of Ramy Kato as Chief Enterprise Officer,
transitioning from his previous role as Chief Customer Officer. He will oversee
Telecom Egypt’s enterprise, corporate, and government portfolio, focusing on
expansion through strategic partnerships and advancing digital transformation
initiatives aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
In
recognition of the critical role of technology in driving innovation and
growth, the Board appointed Ahmed El-Fouly as Chief Information Officer. He
will be responsible for modernizing and expanding the company’s information and
digital infrastructure, advancing automation, innovation, and data-driven
capabilities across the organization, while ensuring alignment between
technology platforms and strategic objectives.
Commenting
on the announcement, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tamer El
Mahdi said the initiative forms part of a comprehensive institutional
transformation program designed to align the company’s organizational structure
with its long-term strategic vision. He noted that the new operating model
enhances agility, strengthens customer-centricity, accelerates decision-making,
and improves execution quality, positioning Telecom Egypt to respond
effectively to rapid market developments.
According
to El Mahdi, the transformation is a key pillar of Telecom Egypt’s broader plan
to improve operational efficiency, strengthen competitiveness, achieve higher
levels of customer satisfaction, and deliver sustainable growth while
maximizing value for shareholders.
