The
Director of Space and Satellite, Mohamed Abubakar Ismail has participated in
and witnessed a satellite launch conducted on December 20, 2025, at the
Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province, China.
The
launch, which took place at 8:30 p.m., offered an opportunity to observe
advanced launch operations and gain firsthand insight into international best
practices in satellite deployment. The event highlighted the rapid advancements
taking place in space and satellite technologies and underscored the growing
role of international cooperation in the peaceful and sustainable use of outer
space.
According
to Mr. Ismail, the experience is directly relevant to his professional
responsibilities and contributes to strengthening institutional knowledge and
strategic planning in the space and satellite sector. He noted that exposure to
such high-level space missions enhances understanding of operational standards
and supports informed decision-making in future space initiatives.
The
participation also reinforced the importance of continued engagement in global
space programs aimed at promoting innovation, resilience, and sustainable
development through collaborative international efforts.
