TikTok’s North Africa Public Policy Lead reflects on 2025 partnerships and sets outlook for 2026

The Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for North Africa at TikTok, Wael Ezzat, has described 2025 as a year defined by trust, impact and strong partnerships across the region, highlighting sustained collaboration with governments, regulators and key stakeholders.

Reflecting on the year on his LinkedIn social media platform, Ezzat noted that engagements throughout 2025 focused on supporting responsible digital growth, promoting meaningful cultural storytelling and ensuring policy alignment in line with national and regional priorities. He emphasized that these efforts were underpinned by a shared commitment to openness, cooperation and the creation of long-term value for North Africa’s evolving digital ecosystem.

According to Ezzat, the year was marked by several impactful moments that demonstrated the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening digital ecosystems, advancing national development objectives and amplifying North African narratives on the global stage.

Looking ahead to 2026, Ezzat said TikTok will continue to prioritize deepening trust with public sector stakeholders, advancing sustainable and forward-looking policy frameworks, and supporting the region’s growing digital and creative potential. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering a safe and vibrant TikTok community that empowers users, elevates local voices and enables meaningful connections across North Africa.

Ezzat also expressed appreciation to the METAPSA regional management team for their strategic guidance throughout the year, noting that their support played a key role in achieving important regional milestones. He concluded by expressing optimism for the year ahead and confidence that the collaborative spirit built in 2025 will translate into tangible progress in 2026.
