The
Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Dr. Avinash
Ramtohul, has toured Mauritius Telecom’s Tier IV Data Centre in Rose Belle as
preparations advance to host government data, including sensitive eHealth
information.
The
visit took place on Monday and was hosted by the Chief Executive Officer of
Mauritius Telecom, Veemal Gungadin, and the Chairman, Sarat Lallah. During the
tour, the Minister was briefed on the facility’s infrastructure and operational
capabilities and highlighted the exceptionally high level of security built
into the data centre.

Mauritius
Telecom’s Tier IV Data Centre is one of the few facilities of its kind in
Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean region. It offers advanced solutions
for secure data hosting, disaster recovery and business continuity, with
systems designed to ensure uninterrupted operations at all times.
The
Rose Belle facility is expected to play a central role in supporting the
government’s digital transformation agenda by providing a highly resilient and
secure environment for critical public sector data and digital services.
