Riyadh
hosted entrepreneurs from across the world during the DeveGo Entrepreneurship
and Modern Business Practices Forum 2025, as the United Nations Conference on
Trade and Development (UNCTAD) reinforced its commitment to inclusive and
sustainable entrepreneurship development.

The
forum featured a keynote address by UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan,
marking a significant moment in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving startup
landscape. Her participation underscored UNCTAD’s support for entrepreneurship
as a driver of innovation, job creation, and economic diversification.
Entrepreneurs
from UNCTAD’s global Empretec network, alongside eFounders from Indonesia,
Kenya, Malaysia, Togo, and Uganda, participated in the forum, sharing practical
business experiences and collaborating closely with Saudi entrepreneurs. The
engagements aimed at strengthening links between local and international
startup ecosystems and fostering cross-border partnerships.

The
forum also featured Jonathan Greechan, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer
of the Founder Institute, who highlighted Saudi Arabia’s convergence of
entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and global technology investment. He
described the country as being at a pivotal moment that offers significant
opportunities for founders to build and scale globally competitive businesses.
As
Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing
startup ecosystems, UNCTAD, through its Empretec global network, is actively
supporting this momentum. The organisation continues to connect entrepreneurs
across regions, promote knowledge exchange, and contribute to innovation-driven
and inclusive economic growth.
