Tina
Mart and the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) have signed a strategic
agreement to jointly develop and operationalize an advanced e-commerce platform
designed to support digital commodity trading in Ethiopia.
The
agreement was concluded between the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange and Tina
Business Group PLC, drawing on Tina Mart’s e-commerce expertise to build a
modern digital trading platform aligned with the operational needs and
workflows of the ECX. The collaboration aims to integrate Tina Mart’s
early-stage e-commerce experience with the institutional requirements of the
Commodity Exchange to deliver a scalable, efficient, and secure electronic
marketplace.

The
agreement was officially signed by H.E. Kidist Sitotaw, Acting Deputy Executive
Officer of the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, and Mr. Ezedin Kamil, Chief
Executive Officer of Tina Mart.
Under
the partnership, commodity sellers will be enabled to list and sell their
products through a centralized electronic trading platform, while buyers will
be able to purchase commodities remotely without the need for physical
presence. The initiative is expected to enhance market accessibility, improve
operational efficiency, and increase transparency across commodity
transactions.
The
collaboration is also anticipated to contribute to the implementation of
Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2030 Strategy by strengthening the country’s
e-commerce ecosystem and accelerating the digital transformation of trade and
market systems.
