The
visit formed part of activities by senior government officials accompanying
President William Samoei Ruto, who is the Chief Guest at this year’s festival.
During the tour, Eng. Tanui reviewed the ICT Authority’s exhibition and
engagements aimed at demonstrating the role of technology in supporting
cultural events and community development.

Also
present at the exhibition site was the Director of Corporate Services at the
ICT Authority, CPA Richard Koech, who joined officials in assessing the
Authority’s participation at the festival.
As
part of its contribution to the 2025 Baringo Cultural Festival and the
associated Goat Auction Event, the ICT Authority provided free public Wi-Fi,
enabling enhanced digital access and connectivity for festival attendees. The
initiative was intended to support communication, information sharing, and
broader public engagement throughout the event.

The
ICT Authority’s participation aligns with national efforts under the Ministry
of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy to expand digital
inclusion and demonstrate the practical application of ICT solutions in public
and cultural spaces across Kenya.
