AXIAN
Telecom Chief Executive Officer, Hassan Jaber has concluded a working visit to
Madagascar, underscoring the group’s continued commitment to digital inclusion,
connectivity, and sustainable development across the country.
The
visit marked several key milestones spanning education, higher education
connectivity, national digital infrastructure, and enterprise engagement. In
the area of education and social impact, AXIAN Telecom, together with Fondation
AXIAN, signed a partnership with Teach For Madagascar aimed at strengthening
access to education nationwide. The long-term initiative targets all 22 regions
of the country and focuses on supporting public primary schools through
educational programmes and learning resources, with particular emphasis on
reading and early education.

In
higher education, AXIAN Telecom, in collaboration with the Minister of Digital
Development, Posts and Telecommunications, Mahefa Andriamampiadana, announced
the deployment of high-speed internet access in public universities. The
rollout will begin with pilot sites in Toliara and is intended to enhance
students’ access to digital learning tools, research resources, and online
opportunities.
Progress
was also reported on the expansion of Madagascar’s national backbone
infrastructure. AXIAN Telecom said the project is a critical pillar for
extending network coverage, improving quality of service, and strengthening the
country’s overall digital resilience.

In
addition to infrastructure and social initiatives, Jaber held a town hall
meeting with teams from Stellarix, the IT division, and Yas Business
Madagascar. The engagement reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting
enterprises with reliable, high-performance digital infrastructure, which AXIAN
Telecom views as essential for economic growth and competitiveness.
AXIAN
Telecom said the initiatives highlighted during the visit reflect its broader
mission to connect people, empower communities, and build inclusive digital
ecosystems capable of delivering long-term social and economic impact in
Madagascar.
