The
Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Arts (MTCA) has become the second ministry to
join Togo’s accelerated digitalisation project, marking a further step in the
government’s drive to modernise public administration and improve service
delivery.
The
kick-off meeting for the digitisation of administrative procedures at the MTCA
was under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Public Service Efficiency and
Digital Transformation (MESPTN). The initiative aims to transform the
ministry’s operations and those of its supervised entities through the adoption
of digital tools and systems.

The
accelerated digitalisation project is structured around seven strategic axes,
including the strengthening of digital infrastructure to ensure continuity of
services, the securing of systems and data against cyber threats, and the
optimisation of internal processes through improved collaboration and digital
document management. It also focuses on data-driven decision-making through
real-time performance monitoring, the online availability of administrative
procedures to improve access for users, and comprehensive capacity building to
support public servants in adopting new digital tools.
The
meeting was attended by Mrs. Cina Lawson, Minister of Public Service Efficiency
and Digital Transformation, and Mr. Isaac Tchiakpe, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Arts. Both ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to the
modernisation of public services and to leveraging digital transformation as a
catalyst for efficiency, transparency, and improved citizen engagement.

The
inclusion of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Arts in the accelerated
digitalisation project reflects Togo’s broader ambition to embed digital
transformation across government institutions as part of its national
development agenda.
