Angola
has inaugurated a new hub dedicated to commercial access to the ANGOSAT-2
satellite, strengthening national connectivity and expanding opportunities for
startups, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecommunications operators.
The facility enables direct access to the satellite’s capabilities and is
expected to support connectivity solutions across underserved and remote areas.

The
infrastructure, installed at the Satellite Control and Mission Center (MCC) in
Funda, was presented by the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN).
It serves as a central interconnection point designed to simplify technical and
commercial access to ANGOSAT-2 services, particularly for business models based
on Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems.
According
to GGPEN officials, the hub is intended to lower entry barriers for smaller
companies by reducing technical complexity and streamlining commercial
processes. This approach is expected to accelerate project deployment and
enable service providers to extend connectivity to regions where terrestrial
networks remain limited or unavailable.
The
inauguration also featured the launch of the Conecta Angola Comercial portal, a
digital platform that centralizes requests for satellite kits, services and
capacity related to ANGOSAT-2. The platform is designed to improve
transparency, efficiency and speed in service contracting by private-sector
users.

The
new hub and digital portal form part of Angola’s broader strategy to leverage
satellite infrastructure to enhance digital inclusion, support innovation, and
strengthen the country’s connectivity ecosystem through greater private-sector
participation.
