The
Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and the Nelson Mandela
African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) have reaffirmed their
partnership with the extension of the Samia Scholarship for Data Science,
Artificial Intelligence, and Allied Sciences. The initiative aims to provide
Tanzanian students with opportunities for advanced training and scholarship
support in cutting-edge scientific fields.
During
his visit to NM-AIST on December 11, 2025, COSTECH Board Chairman Prof. John
Kandoro commended the institution for successfully implementing the scholarship
program and providing beneficiaries with admission and financial support.

He
encouraged students to maximize the skills and knowledge gained, particularly
in adapting to diverse cultural and academic environments abroad.
Prof.
Maulilio Kipanyula, Vice Chancellor of NM-AIST, expressed gratitude to the
Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and COSTECH for their continued
support in advancing the program.
The
collaboration highlights both institutions’ commitment to nurturing talent,
fostering innovation, and preparing Tanzanian scholars to make meaningful
contributions to the global scientific community.
