Marketing Manager at PAIX Data Centres, Makafui Ayimey, has called on young
professionals to shift from competition to talent harnessing, urging them to
recognise their individual strengths and the collective value they contribute
within a supply chain.
Mr.
Ayimey made the remarks during a panel discussion with members of the African
Leadership University Alumni Association, where he engaged participants on
entrepreneurship, collaboration and youth-driven change across the African
continent. He stressed that collaboration and complementary skills are critical
to driving innovation and achieving sustainable, long-term impact.

During
the engagement, Ayimey highlighted Africa’s demographic advantage, noting that
the continent has the world’s largest population of people aged 25 and below.
He contrasted this with demographic trends in Europe and Asia, describing
Africa’s youth bulge as a significant opportunity if supported by the right
collaborative ecosystems.
He
encouraged young professionals to move beyond individual competition and
embrace cooperation, emphasising that shared purpose and interconnected value
chains are essential for long-term success.

Ayimey
said the discussions left him optimistic about the future, expressing
confidence that a new generation of young African men and women will continue
to lead meaningful change across the continent.
