The
Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, in partnership with
UNESCO, The Global Seed Foundation and Theodore Care Point, has launched an AI
and Digital Literacy Programme aimed at equipping young learners and rural
communities with essential 21st-century digital skills.

The
programme was officially unveiled at Theodore Care Point, marking a step toward
expanding access to emerging technologies and digital education in underserved
areas. The initiative seeks to empower participants with foundational knowledge
in artificial intelligence and digital literacy, while fostering creativity,
innovation and future-ready skills.
Delivering
the keynote address, Ms. Raymonda Delaware Alexander, Founder of Dream
Innovations Inc. and Co-Founder of The Global Seed Foundation, highlighted the
programme’s role in inspiring imagination, innovation and leadership among
young people as they prepare for the future.
Representing
the Ministry, the Director of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr.
Rejoice Maseko, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive digital
development under the Government in Your Hand strategy. She noted that the
initiative reflects the Ministry’s determination to ensure that every liSwati
child, irrespective of location, has access to the digital tools and skills
needed to thrive in the digital age.

The
Ministry stated that the collaboration aligns with national efforts to bridge
the digital divide and build a digitally empowered society capable of
contributing to Eswatini’s socio-economic development.
