The
Minister of State for National Education and New Citizenship of the Democratic
Republic of Congo, Raïssa Malu, has held a series of high-level engagements in
Dakar aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the DRC and Senegal
in the areas of education, science and technology.

During
her visit, the Minister met with the leadership of the Senegalese Agency for
Space Studies (ASES), headed by astronomer Maram Kairé. Discussions focused on
exploring new avenues of cooperation to promote science and technology among
young people and the wider public in both countries. The exchanges highlighted
ASES as a model for scientific mobilisation in support of development and
public engagement with science.
Raïssa
Malu also held talks with Professor Mary Teuw Niane, Chief of Staff to the
President of the Republic of Senegal. The meeting centred on sharing
experiences in improving national education systems, reforming public education
policies and advancing science and technology as key drivers for preparing
African countries to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The
engagements were held within the broader framework of strengthening ties
between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal. According to the
Minister, the discussions reinforced the spirit of friendship and cooperation
between the two countries, in line with the ongoing commitment of their
respective Heads of State to deepen collaboration across strategic sectors.
