Côte
d’Ivoire’s Minister of Digital Transition and Digitalisation, Ibrahim Kalil
Konaté, has inspected the construction site of the National Data Center at the
Village of Information Technologies and Biotechnology (VITIB) in Grand-Bassam,
as the project records an execution rate of more than 20 percent.

The
visit, conducted on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, forms part of the government’s
drive toward digital sovereignty under the vision of President Alassane
Ouattara. During the inspection, the minister expressed satisfaction with the
progress of works and commended the commitment of project partners, including
CYBASTION, BNETD, APL and other technical collaborators.
The
National Data Center, financed at 42.361 billion CFA francs, is designed to
securely host the state’s strategic data and support the development of a
modern and resilient digital administration. Technical teams briefed the
minister on challenges linked to the site’s terrain and the measures adopted to
ensure the security and stability of the structure.

Minister
Konaté reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating the project,
stating that all outstanding obstacles would be addressed to increase the pace
of execution, with a target of reaching 60 percent completion by his next
inspection.
