The Mohammed VI Center for Research and Innovation has organised a specialized training session on Indirect Treatment Comparison (ITC), Network Meta-Analysis (NMA), and Matching-Adjusted Indirect Comparison (MAIC) methods, in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Laboratories.

The session was designed to strengthen the capacity of participating teams in the comparative analysis of medical treatments, particularly in contexts where direct clinical trial data are limited or unavailable. Through the training, participants explored the methodological foundations of ITC and NMA and examined key distinctions between frequentist and Bayesian analytical approaches.

The programme also covered advanced comparative techniques, including Matching-Adjusted Indirect Comparison, Simulated Treatment Comparison (STC), and Multilevel Network Meta-Regression (ML-NMR). These methods are increasingly used to generate robust comparative evidence to support healthcare decision-making.

According to the organizers, the training will contribute to improving the quality of evidence used in reimbursement decisions, economic evaluations, and the assessment of new therapeutic options. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance research and analytical capabilities in Morocco’s health sector and to support the informed integration of innovative treatments into the national healthcare system.
