A
high-level delegation from Zambia’s Ministry of Defense, led by Lieutenant
General Geoffrey Ziele, Chief of Staff of the Zambian Armed Forces, paid a
working visit to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII).

During
the visit, EAII Deputy Director General, Tegasu Desalegn briefed the delegation
on the institute’s research achievements and its ongoing initiatives in
advancing AI applications across multiple sectors. The Zambian team also toured
the institute’s product demonstration facilities, including robotics labs and
startup innovation centers showcasing emerging technology solutions.
Lieutenant
General Ziele commended Ethiopia’s commitment to integrating artificial
intelligence into national development. He noted that the institute’s work
reflects the country’s strong focus on technological innovation and
infrastructure development, adding that AI is playing an increasingly important
role in improving daily life and operational efficiency.

The
visit marks a continued effort to strengthen cooperation between Ethiopia and
Zambia in digital transformation and defense-related technological capacity
building.
