The
2nd edition of Startup Week 2025 concluded last Friday, December 5, bringing
together entrepreneurs, innovators, and stakeholders from Guinea’s digital
ecosystem to celebrate technology and entrepreneurship. Organized by HDMS in
partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain and supported by the
Ministry of Industry and SMEs, the event showcased the country’s growing focus
on innovation.

The
closing ceremony featured a high-level panel on artificial intelligence,
moderated by Mr. Aly Cherif, National Director of Information Technologies and
Digital Economy, with contributions from Mr. Mamy Traoré, Director General of
Guinean Broadband (GUILAB), and Mr. Keita Issouf, Head of the Intelligence and
Industrialization Division. The discussions examined emerging AI trends and
their impact on Guinea’s tech landscape.
Prizes
and certificates were awarded to winning startups, including projects led by
young women entrepreneurs, reflecting the event’s emphasis on inclusivity and
youth empowerment.

In
her closing remarks, the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital
Economy, Rose Pola Pricemou highlighted the nation’s progress in 2025 and reaffirmed the
government’s commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening Guinea’s startup
ecosystem, aiming to position the country as a leading technology hub in the
region.
