The
Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), representing
AfriGEO, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International
Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) to strengthen collaboration in Earth
observation and digital mapping initiatives.

The
agreement establishes a framework for joint innovation, enhanced international
partnerships, and accelerated development and deployment of Earth observation
systems across Africa and globally.
Both
organizations, active members of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), aim to
promote the Digital Earth concept and support scientific initiatives
contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Through
this partnership, RCMRD and ISDE plan to foster technological advancement,
knowledge sharing, and capacity building, positioning Africa at the forefront
of global efforts in digital Earth and geospatial innovation.
