The Chief Executive
Officer of MTN Eswatini, Jerry J. Soko, has led his team to welcome the MTN
Uganda TransAfrican Electric Expedition team during their visit to Eswatini. Accompanied by government
officials, the business community, and transport sector stakeholders, CEO Jerry
J. Soko, together with MTN Business Uganda General Manager, Ibrahim Senyonga,
and MTN Business Eswatini GM, Wandile Dlamini praised the Kayoola Electric
Coach as a symbol of African innovation, clean energy, and advanced
manufacturing.

He
emphasized MTN’s role as the official Connectivity Partner and sponsor,
providing digital infrastructure to ensure the expedition team remained
connected, traceable, and supported throughout the 13,000-kilometer journey
across the continent.
Tholani
Mkhaliphi, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport,
spoke on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, expressing support for Kiira
Motors Corporation and the adoption of e-mobility as part of Eswatini’s
development agenda.

The
expedition underscores African collaboration in clean energy and digital
innovation, with MTN reinforcing its commitment to enabling scalable solutions
that drive progress for people, communities, and businesses across the
continent.
