Africa Joint Programme Office (JPO) has reiterated its commitment to
strengthening partnerships and accelerating innovation in Earth Observation
(EO) across the continent during the 2nd Continental Forum of GMES &
Africa, held at the African Space Agency (AfSA) headquarters in Cairo.

The
gathering brought together stakeholders from across Africa’s EO ecosystem to
review progress, explore future services, and reinforce synergies between
ongoing initiatives. Representatives of SatNav Africa JPO described the forum
as an important platform for aligning efforts toward inclusive EO solutions and
ensuring complementarity among programmes supporting the African EO Roadmap.
During
the event, SatNav Africa JPO participated in the Partnership Panel Session,
contributing perspectives on scaling integrated space applications and driving
innovation for socio-economic development. The organisation expressed
appreciation to AfSA Council President, H.E. Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, for the
invitation and for convening partners committed to Africa’s space agenda.

SatNav
Africa JPO also highlighted its role within the Africa–EU Space Partnership
Programme (AESPP), where it supports the institutional component through
ASECNA, the implementing coordinator. The Office affirmed that collaborative
action remains essential in advancing a sustainable African space economy and
ensuring that EO capabilities effectively serve the continent’s development
priorities.
