According
to the report, Senegal now records 97 percent 4G coverage, more than eight
million mobile internet users, strong growth in mobile money adoption and a
digital maturity level that surpasses the regional average. Officials noted
that these gains reflect the impact of the New Deal Technologique, the
government’s framework aimed at accelerating digital development.
The
country is pursuing universal connectivity, strengthening its digital identity
system, expanding digital public services and working toward an ambitious
target of increasing the digital sector’s contribution to 15 percent of GDP by
2034.
The
report projects more than 1,000 billion CFA francs in digital value creation by
2030, alongside thousands of new jobs and strengthened economic
competitiveness.

The
summit reaffirmed that Senegal’s digital future relies on close collaboration
among government institutions, telecom operators, startups, development
partners and stakeholders across the ecosystem.
