The
Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy (MPTEN) of Guinea has
hosted the UniPod Innovation Demo Day, highlighting the continent’s growing
capabilities in artificial intelligence. The event, organized in collaboration
with the Ministries of Higher Education, Youth and Vocational Training, UNDP,
and UniPod Guinea, brought together more than 45 young innovators from seven
West African countries who participated in a month-long AI bootcamp.

Participants
presented functional prototypes of AI solutions to government officials,
members of the diplomatic corps, technical experts, and investors. The showcase
demonstrated how African creativity is increasingly supported by
infrastructure, skills development, and regional collaboration.
Minister
Rose Pola Pricemou praised the energy and ingenuity of the young participants,
emphasizing that Africa is no longer a spectator in technological advancement.
She highlighted that initiatives like UniPod Innovation Demo Day, alongside the
National Strategy for Digitalization 2022–2026, are creating platforms that
transform talent into tangible solutions.

The
minister affirmed the government’s commitment to leveraging artificial
intelligence as a tool for digital sovereignty and youth empowerment.
