Vodacom Tanzania Plc has strengthened its commitment to inclusive education with the donation of essential assistive equipment to support students with special needs in Zanzibar. The items, which include wheelchairs and braille paper, were handed over during a ceremony held in Unguja.

Zanzibar’s Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Hon. Lela Mohamed Mussa, received the donation on behalf of the government. The event brought together parents, students, and senior officials from Vodacom Tanzania, led by Chief Executive Officer Philip Besiimire.

The initiative forms part of Vodacom’s recognition of the International Day of People with Disabilities and reflects the company’s broader effort to promote equal learning opportunities for all children. According to Vodacom, the support aims to enhance accessibility in schools and empower learners with special needs to participate fully in the educational system.

The company reiterated its commitment to working with government and community stakeholders to advance inclusive education across the country.
