Ethio
Telecom and Cameroon’s telecommunications operator CAMTEL have signed a Master
Service Agreement in Yaoundé aimed at accelerating the country’s national
digital transformation agenda. The agreement follows a recent visit by CAMTEL
executives to Ethiopia, where they observed Ethio Telecom’s progress in
implementing the Digital Ethiopia strategy.

Under
the partnership, the two companies will collaborate to expand digital payment
systems that support financial inclusion, build a national cloud platform to
enable the digitization of government services, and enhance mobile network
quality across Cameroon. The deal also outlines initiatives to modernize
CAMTEL’s operations and embed a customer-centric service culture.
The
agreement further enables the deployment of digital solutions, Value Added
Services and interconnect services designed to improve efficiency across key
public and private sector institutions vital to Cameroon’s digital economy.

Ethio
Telecom described the partnership as a major milestone within its “Next
Horizon: Digital and Beyond 2028” strategy, which emphasizes cross-border
digital services and deeper continental cooperation.
The
signing ceremony was presided over by CAMTEL CEO Judith Yah Sunday and Ethio
Telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru, alongside senior representatives from both
organizations.
