Algeria has taken part in the official launch ceremony for 5G technology in
Algeria, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation
agenda. The event, led by Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali
Zerrouki, signalled the start of a new phase in national connectivity and
technological development.

As
one of the operators deploying the next-generation network, Ooredoo Algeria is
rolling out a secure, high-performance 5G infrastructure designed to support
advanced applications across multiple sectors, including smart industry,
digital health, connected education, smart cities and entrepreneurial
innovation. The company says the deployment draws on the expertise of its local
teams and its global experience in next-generation mobile technologies.

Ooredoo
affirmed that the initiative, undertaken in collaboration with public
authorities and ecosystem partners, strengthens Algeria’s ambition to position
itself as a regional digital leader.
