Cisco Connect made its return to Egypt, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting the country’s technological transformation and rising ambitions in artificial intelligence.

During a panel session, Cisco’s Director of Solutions Engineering, Mohamed Bakry, joined Mohamed Shamroukh, President and CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), to discuss Egypt’s positioning as a regional technology hub. The session, moderated by Ossama Kamal, examined the country’s progress across AI infrastructure, autonomous networks, connected vehicles, and spectrum readiness.

Key topics included Egypt’s National IPv6 Strategy, emerging regulations for connected cars and IoT services, and the nation’s ambition to become a Regional AI Hub under its National AI Strategy. The discussion also highlighted the role of low-Earth orbit and non-terrestrial networks as complementary layers for nationwide resilience.
