Cisco
Connect made its return to Egypt, underscoring the company’s commitment to
supporting the country’s technological transformation and rising ambitions in
artificial intelligence.
During
a panel session, Cisco’s Director of Solutions Engineering, Mohamed Bakry,
joined Mohamed Shamroukh, President and CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory
Authority (NTRA), to discuss Egypt’s positioning as a regional technology hub.
The session, moderated by Ossama Kamal, examined the country’s progress across
AI infrastructure, autonomous networks, connected vehicles, and spectrum
readiness.

Key
topics included Egypt’s National IPv6 Strategy, emerging regulations for
connected cars and IoT services, and the nation’s ambition to become a Regional
AI Hub under its National AI Strategy. The discussion also highlighted the role
of low-Earth orbit and non-terrestrial networks as complementary layers for
nationwide resilience.
Bakry
emphasized how Cisco’s strategic partnerships and acquisitions are
strengthening its ecosystem in Egypt, enabling the delivery of comprehensive AI
solutions to partners across the region.

He
praised Shamroukh and the NTRA team for their leadership in advancing Egypt’s
digital agenda and acknowledged Kamal’s role in steering the discussion.
