The
African Union Commission has held high-level talks with ServiceNow Africa to
explore how AI-powered workflow platforms can support the continent’s digital
governance and integration agenda.
The
meeting, held in Addis Ababa, was hosted by AU Commissioner for Infrastructure
and Energy, Lerato D. Mataboge, and attended by ServiceNow Africa’s executive
team led by Vice President and Managing Director Cheick Camara.

Discussions
focused on the role of AI-driven systems in advancing the AU’s Digital
Transformation Strategy (2020–2030), the Continental AI Strategy, and the
broader ambition of building a secure and interoperable African Digital Single
Market.
During
the engagement, both parties examined how cloud-native workflow tools could
help modernise public administration across the African Union’s 55 member
states, improve transparency, and streamline citizen-facing services. They also
discussed opportunities for integrating AI-enabled governance solutions within
PIDA digital corridors and national energy regulatory systems.

The
meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to ensuring that digital solutions
developed for the continent prioritise African data sovereignty, promote local
technological capacity, and deliver secure and seamless services for citizens.
The
AU described the engagement as part of ongoing efforts to drive a digital
ecosystem built “by Africans, for Africans,” in alignment with the aspirations
of Agenda 2063.
