Telkom
South Africa has welcomed senior executives from the Industrial and Commercial
Bank of China (ICBC) and Standard Bank South Africa as part of efforts to
strengthen strategic partnerships and explore new avenues for cooperation. The
delegation visited The Telkom Hub, where they were received by Telkom Group CEO
Serame Taukobong.

The
engagement brought together ICBC President, Jun Liu and Standard Bank Group CEO,
Sim Tshabalala for discussions centred on expanding collaboration beyond
financial support. The talks focused on identifying opportunities to enhance
operational efficiency, drive innovation, and contribute to South Africa’s
broader transformation agenda.
During
the visit, the guests took part in a tea ceremony, symbolising cultural respect
and partnership, before touring Telkom’s Network Operation Centre. The facility
serves as the core of the company’s network operations and reflects its
commitment to technological advancement and national connectivity.

Telkom
noted that partnerships remain central to its long-term growth strategy. The
company emphasised the important role ICBC and Standard Bank play as key
financial partners, while underscoring the value of collective collaboration in
advancing its strategic objectives.
The
visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continued
cooperation aimed at supporting shared growth and innovation within South
Africa’s digital ecosystem.
