A
high-level German NewSpace delegation is in Nairobi to assess investment and
partnership opportunities in Kenya’s growing space and aerospace sector. The
visit formed the centrepiece of the Kenya–Germany NewSpace Business Forum held
today, bringing together government leaders, industry experts, and innovators
from both countries.

The
Director General of the Kenya Space Agency, Brig. Hillary Kipkosgey, joined the
Principal Secretary for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Teresia Mbaika, to
welcome the delegation, which included representatives from the German Federal
Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Aerospace Center, the
German Aerospace Industries Association, the Federation of German Industries,
and several leading NewSpace companies.
The
forum provided a platform for open discussions on emerging technologies,
business opportunities, industrial cooperation, and skills development. Kenyan
industry leaders and innovators also participated, highlighting the country’s
capabilities and future ambitions in space science and commercial space
activities.

Both
Brig. Kipkosgey and Ms. Mbaika reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to working with
international partners to advance space research, technology development, and
commercial ventures that support national socio-economic growth.
They
noted that Germany’s expertise and investment capacity align well with Kenya’s
vision for a competitive and sustainable space ecosystem.
