The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) and the
University of Namibia (UNAM) have formalised a new collaboration with the
signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening national
capacity in ICT development, cybersecurity, research and digital skills.

The
partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing academic excellence and
accelerating technological progress in line with Namibia’s digital
transformation agenda. Under the MoU, CRAN and UNAM will work together on joint
research initiatives, knowledge exchange programmes, and capacity-building
activities designed to equip students and professionals with industry-relevant
skills.

The
agreement also places strong emphasis on cybersecurity readiness, recognising
the increasing importance of protecting digital infrastructure as Namibia
expands its digital footprint. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to
empowering the next generation of ICT professionals and contributing to a
resilient, innovative and inclusive digital future for the country.
